Home Secretary Sajid Javid has called for a lifting of post-study work restrictions for international students in the UK. It was announced on 7 June that he had accepted Jo Johnson’s clause for students at recognised universities to have an automatic right to stay on to work for two years on their Tier 4 student visa.
UKCISA’s Chief Executive Anne Marie Graham commented:
“This is a tremendous step forward for international students in the UK, and will contribute to the successful delivery of the International Education Strategy. I’m very grateful to Jo Johnson and Paul Blomfield for their work to achieve cross party support for this important amendment."
